A community housing project at Kalladikode in partnership with SBI was started in November, 2004 and successfully completed in April 2005.Twelve houses and a community centre was built by the Trust. In May 2005, Oruma Gramam was inaugurated and keys were handed over to the beneficiaries in the presence of the public by Mr..O.K.Varghese, AGM,SBI Palakkad region.

Mr.Sateesan, AGM, NABARD, who was the chief guest, said that although Oruma started like a small stream, in due course it has emerged like the mighty river Ganges . Kalladikode Panchayath president Ms.Hemalatha expressed the view that Shalom is a social Catalyst which has changed the lifestyle of downtrodden at Kalladikode. She said that Shalom is the last resort of the poor people of Kalladikode. The programme was attended by Mr. Anil Kumar,Chief Manager,SBI,Shornur,Mr.Suresh Kumar,AGM, Dhanalakshmi Bank, Zonal Office, Trichur and many other dignitaries. This project happened to be the first of its kind in the state.

Ms.Latha, a beneficiary of Oruma Grammam opined, “we are in heaven…Our long cherished dreams are now a reality. It is a promise that has been converted into reality by the Shalom.”
