Seraphic Garden,
Padalikkad

The successful completion of the Oruma Gramam at Kalladikkode inspired the Trust to start yet another housing project of 25 houses and a community hall at Padalikkad with funds allotted by SBI, ADB, Palakkad.
It is the Shalom way to excel in the sphere of social responsibility. The social conscience of the Shalom Trust has made it possible to support community projects like housing. It is the desire of the Trust to provide shelter to the poor as the Trust wants to continue the tradition of compassion.
Shalom has demonstrated its social responsibility as an integral part of its charitable and commercial success when the Trust completed its housing scheme, Seraphic Garden, Padalikkad, in a record time. The Trust has demonstrated how it is possible to combine innovative ideas with social responsibility and concern for the environment and well-being of the local communities.

The land for the construction of Seraphic Garden has been donated by the Seraphic Novitiate, Palakkad.
The project, spread over 1.5 acres of land at Padalikkad, has been completed with the financial assistance of State Bank of India, ADB, Palakkad. The project includes 25 residential houses and a community hall. The housing project is a living example of the Trust‘s charitable activity as it contributed sufficient building materials and the skilled workers. The beneficiaries also came forward to support the project wholeheartedly with their manual labour.

The prestigious project was inaugurated on July 3, 2006 by the Chief Minister, Mr.V.S. Achuthanandan. Inaugurating the function Chief Minister said, ”Charitable organisations like Shalom Trust has been playing a pivotal role to implement the scheme of shelter to the shelterless people. It is one of the objectives of the government to build homes to poor people within a span of five years.”
Mr.N.N.Krishnadas M.P, who was the chief guest, congratulated the Trust for its humanitarian work. Ms.Radha Unni, Chief General Manager, Kerala circle, ADB, Palakkad, delivered the keynote address.
Nothing contributes like shelter in enhancing the status of the poor and the nation at large. The Trust will continue to demonstrate its proven ability to adapt themselves to the changing trends in the society.
